HORNCHURCH 1 CHELMSFORD 3 Hornchurch looked confident in the first half and Chelmsford had to weather several long throws from Steve Pashley before a 40 yard throw found JAMIE SALMON who hit the ball home past a crowd of defenders. Four minutes later City levelled following a corner, which eluded the defence and was headed home by JASON HALLETT. One minute into the second half and JASON HALLETT scored again, this time after a penetrating cross from the left. City had five first team players in their line up and for a time they looked like increasing their lead. But Hornchurch came back strongly, and Jamie Salmon went close with a free kick, Chris Stowe hammered in a shot which skimmed the post, a Dave Sadler shot was well saved by Aliadiere, and Jamie Salmon again went close after a good pass from Jack Joy. In stoppage time City scored a third when KEVIN JAMES raced down the right wing, turned inside and hit an excellent shot past Dean Neil, who had earlier saved well from Lawrence Dudfield. |
