Saturday 21st January 2012 Bury Town 2 AFC Hornchurch 1 A last-gasp goal in the third minute of injury time robbed the Urchins of a well-deserved point at Bury. Again, the team showed their character after Reiss Noel was dismissed early in the second half for a second 'yellow'. They went on to score an equaliser but with seconds to go were cruelly punished. Fortunatley other results went our way and we still retain our second spot. Click for today's match report

Saturday 14th January 2012 Grimsby Town 4 AFC Hornchurch 0 The Mariners scuppered the Urchins chance of Trophy glory with a thoroughly professional display. Although the game was lost by half time the lads heads did not drop. In the second half they played some superb attacking football, hitting the post, and showing why they are RPL title contenders. The urchin fans never stopped singing and their tremendous support was indeed a credit to the Club - as was the team performance. Click for today's match report

Tuesday 10th January 2012 AFC Hornchurch 0 Harrow Borough 0 A draw was all that was needed to move the Urchins back to the top of the Table and that is what they got. Both teams put in a great deal of effort with the 'keepers making some excellent saves and a draw was a fair reflection of play. Maybe our lads had an eye on the big game this Saturday when the Urchin Army travel North to meet a very in-form Grimsby Town in the Second Round of the F.A. Trophy. Click for today's match report

Saturday 7th January 2012 Wingate & Finchley 1 AFC Hornchurch 2 Another convincing display from the Urchins saw them bag three more away points to keep the pressure on the leaders. With 'Ricay's surprise 4-2 defeat vs Tooting and Mitcham we now move into second place just a point behind Lowestoft. We now look forward to our HOME game on Tuesday evening when HARROW BOROUGH are our visitors. A positive result would see us move into top spot. Click for today's match report

Monday 2nd January 2012 AFC Hornchurch 3 Lowestoft Town 0 The Urchins shook off last Saturday's defeat with a commanding display against fellow promotion-chasers Lowestoft. The three valuable points earned today puts us firmly back in the Title mix again. Despite Saturday's loss the Management Team will consider it a very successful Christmas campaing with victories over leaders Billericay and second placed Lowestoft Town. Saturday 31st December 2011 Canvey Island 4 AFC Hornchurch 1 The Urchins incredible run of away victories came to an end with a bump this afternoon albeit that the scoreline flattered the hosts. Things looked rosy when Hornchurch took the lead in the 25th minute but the game turned in the 62nd minute with the dismissal of Martin Tuohy. Canvey hit two quick goals to take the lead and with the Urchins pressing for the equaliser hit two more goals in the closing few minutes. Click for today's match report

Tuesday 27th December 2011 Billericay Town 0 AFC Hornchurch 1 Hornchurch earned their ninth successive RPL away victory at New Lodge today and in doing so inflicted 'Ricay's first home League defeat of the season. More importantly, however, they have tightened things at the top with just two points now separating the top four teams. Click for today's match report

Saturday 17th December 2011 AFC Hornchurch 2 Aveley 1 Hornchurch put the visitors under great pressure for long periods and powered to a 2-0 lead early into the second half. Then, after an inspired substitution, Aveley netted on 59 minutes and came more into the game. However, the Urchins defence held out and even created chances to extend their lead. Three valuable points keeps us firmly in the play-off zone with three vital games ahead - Billericay Town & Canvey Island away and Lowestoft Town at home on Jan 2. Click for today's match report

Saturday 10th December 2011 AFC Hornchurch 0 Farnborough 0 Hornchurch demonstated once again that they hold no fears when playing higher league opposition. After going down to ten men they put in a superb performance to earn a replay at Farnborough this coming Wednesday. Tuesday 6th December 2011 Colchester United 4 AFC Hornchurch 1 - Essex Senior Cup The Urchins acquitted themselves well against such high class opposition. With the scoreline 2-1 in favour of the hosts after 73 minutes Hornchurch were battling hard. However, Colchester hit two more before the close to earn a place in the Quarter Finals. Tuesday 6th December 2011 Urchins are November Team of the Month! The Macron Team of the Month Award for the Ryman Premier Division has gone to AFC Hornchurch for their 5-0 victory vs Thurrock in the Third Qualifying Round of the F.A. Trophy. Well done lads - and we hope for more of the same this Saturday when we entertain Farnborough in the First Round Proper.

Saturday 3rd December 2011 Leatherhead 0 AFC Hornchurch 1 The Tanners made Hornchurch fight hard for the win and for much of the game it looked like they would win a precious home point. The Urchins dug deep, however, and an injury time header from Martin Tuohy secured all three points. Tuesday 29th November 2011 AFC Hornchurch 0 Hendom 1 The Urchins struggled to find the form which has earned them seven RPL away victories in eight games and they paid the price in the 23rd minute when the visitors scored the only goal of the game. Hendon always looked sharp and on balance deserved their victory. The lads will want to put this one behind them as the very challenging Christmas campaign approaches with games against both Billericay and Lowestoft - not forgetting the F.A. Saturday 26th November 2011 F.A. Trophy - Thurrock 0 AFC Hornchurch 5 There aren't enough superlatives to describe today's team performance. The lads totally outplayed their hosts and proved promotion to Conference South holds no fears. Everyone played their part, players, Management and supporters, to make a most memorable afternoon. Tuesday 22nd November 2011 AFC Hornchurch 1 Carshalton Athletic 1 Carshalton usually provide stiff opposition and tonight was no exception. The Robins took the lead in the 41st minute and Frankie Curley levelled 15 minutes into the second half. Both teams had chances to snatch all three points but the game ended all square. So the Urchins unbeaten run continues. We now move on to a very important F.A. Monday 21st November 2011 U16's Cassells Cup Success On Sunday the Urchins U16's eased into the last 16 of this seasons Cassells Cup competition with a 1-0 victory away at Stanway Rovers. They now have a home tie vs Broomfield of Colchester in the Fourth Round. This match is to be played on Sunday 15th January. Well done young Urchins!

Saturday 19th November 2011 Hastings United 1 AFC Hornchurch 3 The Urchins incredible away form continued as they chalked up three more points at the Pilot Field keeping the pressure on their fellow Title chasers. This was their sixth consecutive RPL victory away from home! We hope this rich vein of form continues when we entertain Carshalton Athletic this coming Tuesday evening in what will be our first HOME RPL game in over a month. Click for today's match report

Tuesday 15th November 2011 Another Away Draw in the County Cup Following yesterday's victory over Thurrock the Urchins will now travel to meet Colchester United in the Fourth Round of the Essex Senior Cup. The date for this fixture has yet to be arranged.

Saturday 12th November 2011 Concord Rangers 1 AFC Hornchurch 2 The Urchins demonstrated great skill and professionalism in claiming all three points to keep their promotion ambitions firmly on track. The hosts adopted their well-known game plan which saw four Urchins booked before half time. However, in a strong second half display Hornchurch struck twice through Frankie Curley and Lewis Smith which earned them the well deserved victory and three valuable points. Thursday 10th November 2011 County Cup vs Thurrock - Monday 14th November Despite a firm undertaking by the Essex F.A. that this game should be played on Thurrock's usual evening for mid-week games (TUESDAY) they have now had second thoughts and instructed us to play the game on Monday 14th November. This baffling decision will no doubt favour Thurrock as they don't have a game this Saturday. Sadly the consequences may be that we have to field a weakened team on Monday. This would be a pity as we have always regarded the County Cup with respect and given it 100% commitment.

Tuesday 8th November 2011 AFC Hornchurch 1 Harrow Borough 0 A Les Thompson 28th minute goal was enough to see the Urchins through to the Third Qualifying Round of the F.A. Trophy where they will travel to meet Thurrock of the Conference South. We now start a sequence of three 'away' games with an important RPL encounter this coming Saturday vs Concord Rangers. The lads will certainly be looking to avenge their F.A. Cup defeat and earn all three points to keep their Title ambitions on track. Click for today's match report

Saturday 5th November 2011 Harrow Borough 1 AFC Hornchurch 1 Both teams go into the hat in Monday's Third Qualifying Round Draw after honours finished even at Earlsmead. The Urchins took the lead in the 12th minute through Elliot Styles and held on to it until the hosts equalised in the 56th. So at last we have a home game! Wednesday 2nd November 2011 Player Movements at the Bridge Two players have left the Club ... Dave Collis has left us to join Billericay Town and Donny Barnard has joined Harlow. The Club thanks both players for their loyal service. We are delighted to confirm that Andy Tomlinson has re-joined us. Andy always gives 110% and is a firm crowd favourite at the Bridge. Welcome back Andy!

Saturday 29th October 2011 Lewes 0 AFC Hornchurch 4 AFC Hornchurch maintained their spectacular away form by notching up yet another victory, this time against a quality Lewes side at the Dripping Pan. The Urchins have now amassed an incredible 18 points from a possible 21 on their travels so far this season and It is this kind of form which has made the team serious Title contenders. Monday 24th October 2011 Urchins Drawn Away in the Trophy AFC Hornchurch will travel to meet fellow RPL side Harrow Borough in the Second Qualifying Round of the F.A. Trophy. The tie is to be played on Saturday 5th November.

Saturday 22nd October 2011 Wingate & Finchley 1 AFC Hornchurch 2 Just as everyone was gearing up for a Tuesday evening Replay at Bridge Avenue Lewis Smith stepped up to hit an 89th minute winner to send the Urchins into the Second Qualifying Round of the F.A. Trophy. In a very competitive game it was the hosts who took the lead in the 11th minute. Lewis Smith levelled on 30 minutes and that's how it stayed until he hit the winner in the 89th minute. Our home game vs Hendon on 5th November will now be postponed as we will now play in the next Round of the F.A. Trophy. Click for today's match report

Tuesday 18th October 2011 Cheshunt 3 AFC Hornchurch 1 The Urchins bowed out of this season's League Cup competition at the first hurdle with an under par performance at Cheshunt. There is little time to dwell as we prepare for yet another Cup competition when we travel this Saturday to meet Wingate & Finchley in the First Qualifying Round of the F.A. Trophy. Saturday 15th October 2011 AFC Hornchurch 3 Kingstonian 0 The Urchins really turned on the style and treated their fans to what was possibly their best home performance of the season. After a frustrating first half where numerous goal opportunities were not converted fans were left thinking that it was just one of those days. However, the lads continued to press in the second half and were rewarded for their efforts. But for some fine goal keeping by the K's the scoreline could have been even more impressive. This victory takes the Urchins back to the top of the Table for the first time since the opening day of the season. Click for today's match report

Saturday 8th October 2011 East Thurrock United 0 AFC Hornchurch 1 After last Saturday's disappointment Hornchurch returned to their winning ways and in doing so maintained their impressive away form. A 17th minute Lewis Smith goal was enough to secure all three points and earn the Urchins another away RPL victory. They have won five of their six away games this season with the only blemish being the narrow defeat at Lowestoft. Their task is now to replicate this form at Bridge Avenue. Tuesday 4th October 2011 AFC Hornchurch 0 Bury Town 1 A bitterly disappointing night for the Urchins. The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes and then defended exceptionally well for the rest of the game due in no small part to some inspired goal keeping. Hornchurch created a hatful of excellent goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalise on them. Fair play to Bury, they came with a plan, stuck to it and earned the reward. Saturday 1st October 2011 AFC Hornchurch 1 Wingate & Finchley 0 AFC Hornchurch climbed to 5th place in the League Table with their fifth win in their last six RPL games but the Blues didn't make it easy. The victory was secured with a 51st minute goal from Rickie Hayles. Next Tuesday evening's home clash vs Bury Town is now a massive game. Thursday 29th September 2011 AFC Hornchurch 3 Enfield 1893 1 AFC Hornchurch ran out 3-1 victors in their First Round President's Cup tie vs Enfield 1983 and now travel to meet Cheshunt in the Second Round. The date for this game has yet to be announced. Click for today's match report

Tuesday 27th September 2011 Margate 0 AFC Hornchurch 2 After a very even first half display the Urchins gained the upper hand grabbing all three points courtesy of a brace from Michael Spencer. This excellent result lifts us to 6th in the table with a goal difference of +10! The tricky games are coming along fast and furious as we look forward to another entertaining game this Saturday when we play hosts to Wingate and Finchley, k.o. 3pm. Click for today's match report

Saturday 24th September 2011 AFC Hornchurch 1 Wealdstone 1 In a very even and hard-fought contest the home fans must have thought the Urchins had secured all three points when Lewis Smith hit a well taken 64th minute goal. However, the joy was short lived as Stones Richard Jolly levelled only six minutes later to earn a well deserved equaliser. Thursday 22nd September 2011 Stansted 1 AFC Hornchurch 5 (F.A. Youth Cup) The young Urchins put in a superb performance in the First Qualifying Round of the F.A. Youth Cup with a resounding 5-1 victory against Stansted. This win has earned the lads a home tie in the Second Qualifying Round vs Tilbury. The match is to be played week commencing 3rd October 2011.

Saturday 17th September 2011 AFC Hornchurch 1 Concord Rangers 3 Sadly the Urchins fell at their first hurdle and must wait another year in their quest for F.A. Cup glory. Whilst the visitors, who have yet to score an RPL victory this season, may have shaded the play on the pitch, for some sitting on the Riverside at least, it was the animated off-field antics of some which proved more entertaining than the game itself. Today is disappointing but we all know that our main aim is promotion - and that goal is firmly within our grasp. Click for today's match report

Monday 12th September 2011 Aveley 2 AFC Hornchurch 3 Following a spell of three consecutive RPL defeats the Urchins have bounced back with three consecutive victories - the latest being a five-goal thriller at Mill Field. Although Elliot Styles struck for the Urchins in the first minute the hosts went in at the break with a 2-1 advantage. However, Hornchurch secured a deserved victory with two second half goals to claim the points. We now move on to FA Cup action when we entertain Concord Rangers this coming Saturday, k.o. 3pm. Saturday 10th September 2011 AFC Hornchurch 6 Tooting & Mitcham United 0 This afternoon the Urchins finally got the result they deserved. After playing well in recent matches and coming away with nothing today was payback timed! On today's performance the scoreline fairly reflected the gulf between the teams. But for the bravery of the Terrors 'keeper the Urchins tally could well have been in double figures. Credit to T&M though, as their heads didn't drop and even when 6-0 down they tried, in vain, to push forward for a consolation goal. We now hope this momentum can be carried forward to Aveley on Monday evening. Click for today's match report

Friday 9th September 2011 Player News The Club are delighted to confirm the signing of left back Joe Anderson and goalkeeper Joe Wooley. Both players will add strength to our squad. Joe Anderson played at Lincoln City whilst Joe Wooley joins us from Chelmsford City. Two players have left the Club - Ashley Taylor-Forbes and Darren Behcet. Darren played 107 games for the Urchins and Ashley ten. We thank both players for their loyal service during their time with us and wish them well.

Saturday 3rd September 2011 Metropolitan Police 0 AFC Hornchurch 2 The Urchins got back to winning ways courtesy of second half goals from Martin Tuohy and Jo Flack in what was an excellent all-round team performance. This result lifts us five places in the table. Our next game is next Saturday when we entertain Tooting and Mitcham United when the lads will be looking to make up further ground on the early league pace-setters by earning three more points. Monday 29th August 2011 Lowestoft Town 2 AFC Hornchurch 1 The football gods are certainly conspiring against the Urchins. After matching their hosts in every department they left Crown Meadow pointless. Lubo Guentchev hit the winner with virtually the last kick of the game - much to the obvious delight (and relief) of the home team - as can be seen from the video. Saturday 27th August 2011 AFC Hornchurch 0 Horsham 2 A second disappointment of the week for Urchin fans saw Horsham grab all three points in a game which could have easily ended with a totally different scoreline. Sadly no points are awarded for territorial advantage. However, we are still creating a host of goal scoring opportunities and our luck will surely change soon! Tuesday 23rd August 2011 AFC Hornchurch 1 Canvey Island 2 A disappointing end to a game which started so brightly saw the Urchins drop three home points in a very keenly fought contest. Despite the result the signs are positive. We are creating lots of goal-scoring opportunities but just need to tighten up a little defensively. Sunday 21st August 2011 Cray Wanderers 2 AFC Hornchurch 5 The Urchins won their opening League fixture as they have done since they re-joined the RPL in 2007. Of the five opening games today's performance was probably the most impressive. After going behind in the 14th minute Hornchurch hit five in what turned out to be a most entertaining game. We now eagerly await the visit this Tuesday of our friends from Canvey Island for our first home RPL game of the new season Click for today's match report

Saturday 6th August 2011 AFC Hornchurch 3 West Ham United XI 1 A talented West Ham Academy side played their part in what turned out to be a very entertaining game. However, the Urchins were always too strong for the youngsters who, apart from the superb strike by Blair Turgott, rarely threatened the home goal. In an excellent all round Urchin performance the highlight was a fine hat trick by Martin Tuohy. Our thanks to West Ham for providing today's opposition and we wish them well in their campaign to win back their Premiership status. Click for today's match report
